So, it’s been another pretty eventful week.
Last weekend, my fiancé and I took a mini-break in Bournemouth. Quite literally our first holiday together ever, in almost six years – so it was definitely well overdue!
It was one of the best holidays that I’ve been on. Proof to me that you don’t need to travel halfway across the world to enjoy what the planet can offer. The minute we arrived the sun was shining, the first thing we saw was the sea. And my god, was it beautiful.
Apart from spending most of the weekend in Arcades playing Deadstorm Pirates; eating everything, and exploring the town centre; we had a mooch around the Oceanarium. We visited there briefly a couple of years back whilst spending the day at Bournemouth Tattoo Convention, and have been meaning to go back again ever since. Here’s a couple of shots that I took 🙂
We got the opportunity to see the Giant turtles being fed whilst there was barely anyone around, which was awesome. They’re like Joey from Friends. No food sharing happening there.
Speaking of food – Hot Rocks is by far one of the best restaurants on the earth. Both times we’ve been there, the food was incredible. Highly recommend grabbing dinner there if you’re visiting the area. Near enough on the seafront, and the service was nothing short of amazing. It hadn’t changed at all since the last time we visited in 2011, still just as awesome.
Also, not to forget one of the best cocktail bars I’ve been to in a while. The aptly named ‘Aruba’ bar. There was a cocktail with 5 different types of rum in it! Absolute heaven. I feel a bit tipsy just thinking about it…
Overall, it was a great weekend. One of the best routes to a clear mind – I honestly don’t remember the last time I was this content. Lesson learned – remember to take time out once in a while. It’s just as important as working hard. Find the balance, and there will be literally no stopping you.
Now – straight to the exciting news!
I begin a new venture working with the extremely talented Hannah Calavera at Jericho Tattoo Emporium in Oxford next Wednesday! (1st October). A lady whose work I have admired for years. I also get the opportunity to work with her super lovely apprentice, Briony, who’s definitely one to watch for the future. She’s going to be an amazing lady tattooer!
Anywho, for appointments feel free to use the contact form to get in touch! I have a diary and I am taking bookings from now 🙂
I look forward to hearing from you! (please check your ‘junk’ folder for email replies, it seems a couple of people have experienced this).
